FAQ

What is TLFit?

These are full-body workouts that make the most of your hour and keep things fresh! Incorporating a wide mix of music, I am continually bringing in new movements to challenge you while offering modifications that keep classes accessible to everyone. Learn more about all the TLFit classes here.

What kind of music do you play during classes?

We dance around the world and through time, alternating hip-hop, bhangra, Latin styles (salsa, merengue, reggaeton, samba), pop, Bollywood, retro-Americana, African, and more. Check out my up-to-date playlists here.

How can I take class with you?

In Person at UCSF's Bakar Fitness Center and Oakland's Hipline Dance Studio.
(Please note: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, these classes are currently suspended. I look forward to dancing in person with you all again as soon we can.)

Online Anytime: YouTube

Live Online: Sign up for my email list to receive my class schedule and Zoom link.

How much are your classes?

In Person class fees are set by the respective studios. See websites for details.

My online classes are entirely pay-what-you-can/donation based. Venmo donations very much appreciated: @Talia-Litle. Thanks in advance!

What should I wear for a class?

Anything that's comfortable and allows you to move easily is perfect. Shoes are required in person, but if you're dancing from home and prefer to go barefoot, do as you feel. (I often do!) Some people enjoy dance shoes with a split sole, but they definitely aren't necessary. Because feet are unique, honor what works best for your body.

Do I need to bring anything to class?

A water bottle and a small towel are great to have nearby for all my classes - in person and online. Additional gear, such as a mat and hand weights, will be provided at each studio and are beneficial if you have them at home. (A large towel and soup cans can sub in a pinch if needed!)

Do I need to be a dancer to take your classes?

No! Everyone is welcome here. My classes are all follow-the-leader style, high energy, and full of variety for all fitness levels. Even if you’ve never tried a particular dance style before, we’ll break it down and you’ll feel good about it within a few classes. That said, if something is actually painful to do, please stop. What you can do today may be different than what you did yesterday. Listen to your body.
